About

My practice centres on landscape shaped by life on the coast of Far North Queensland, with a strong focus on expansive skies and shifting weather systems. I’m drawn to open horizons and the meeting points of land, sea, and sky. Landforms often appear only as small anchor points, offering a sense of scale within the broader space.

I’m interested in the quiet edges of urban life, where human presence is suggested rather than shown. At times the horizon disappears altogether, and the work leans toward pure skyscape.

I paint places I know intimately, returning often to walk, observe, and absorb the ever‑changing light and atmosphere. This familiarity allows me to work with connection and conviction. The wild skies and turbulent climate of tropical North Queensland remain a constant and compelling source of inspiration.
